Winter Field Day 2026

WFD-2026 - Certificate of Participation.png

Enhancing Our Operational Abilities

On our most bitter cold weekend in 2026, several of our club members participated in Winter Field Day 2026 in Waupaca, WI.    Our club, KE9CJE, operated under class 2I (2 transmitters operating indoors) even though we had the ability with antennas and transceivers to operate four stations.  We made 84 total contacts and received our certificate of participation from the Winter Field Day Association (see photo to left).

We had a public veterans service official also participate with us and he enjoyed making contacts.

....in Wisconsin's Bitter Cold!

A new addition to operating at Sabertooth Enterprises indoors for Winter Field Day this year was a heated trailer by our member  Al (KD9YBU).

Wolf River Amateur Radio Club participated in Winter Field Day 2025 at Sabertooth Enterprises, 1439 Churchill St, Ste 202, Waupaca, Wisconsin.  We operated four transceivers and activated 80M to 10M bands on SSB and CW.  It was a blast with all the members that participated.  We made lots of contacts and achieved several multipliers.

Winter Field Day began with a group breakfast at Rose Garden in Waupaca.  From there we started setup and operating by 10 AM on Sat. January 25th, 2025, and ended at 4 PM on Sunday, Jan. 26th.  Thanks to all the club members that came and participated!
